"Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live."

- Psalms 43:3

MISSION STATEMENT

VERITAS HOMESCHOOL COOPERATIVE exists to glorify God by providing a loving, Christ-centered, truth-seeking community for our families to learn, grow, serve others, instill a love of learning, and grow in fellowship and friendship with one another. Each family has an essential role to play in the success of our co-op. We understand that the quality of our time together depends on our collective level of commitment as well as each of us fulfilling our individual roles within the group. In order to do this, we commit to the following:

1. to be diligent in our preparation for our responsibilities on each co-op day

2. to model promptness and consideration by arriving at Faith Baptist Church in Chandler in time to have our children and supplies unloaded and prepared for the day prior to opening time, which is 8:00 a.m.

3. to have at least one parent attend and actively participate on each co-op day that we meet

4. to attempt to live out our faith before the children in our classes, modeling integrity, compassion, honesty, and Christ-like behavior, and holding them accountable to the same standards

STATEMENT OF FAITH

At VERITAS HOMESCHOOL COOPERATIVE, we uphold a Christian/Biblical worldview and therefore adhere to and will teach from this perspective.

Biblical Authority

We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired, inerrant, infallible, divinely preserved Word of God, and the authoritative rule of faith, life, and conduct for all Christians (Ps 119:105, 133, 160; Prov 30:5a; 2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21). The Bible teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and live sensible, righteous, godly lives (Titus 2:11-13).

Humanity’s Need for Salvation

We believe there is one living and true God—eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His sinless life, in His miracles, His death on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, and ascension to Heaven (Rom 4:23-25; 5:8;1 John 4:9-10). We believe all humans are sinful by nature (Romans 3:23) and can only be forgiven by repentance and trust in Jesus as Savior. Salvation comes by grace alone through faith in God’s Son Jesus Christ, totally apart from human merit (John 1:12, Eph 2:8-10). We believe this salvation is available to every person in the world (John 3:16-17), for God desires all persons to be saved (1 Timothy 2:3-5). We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict and regenerate mankind, and to indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service (Titus 3:4-7). We believe that all human beings are made in the image of Christ, and we will therefore honor, respect and serve one another as fellow image bearers (Gen 1:27). It is our desire to foster Christian relationships between families and to model fellowship and friendship (Heb 10:25).

Marriage & Family

We believe God established the institution of marriage and designed it to be an exclusive relationship between one man and one woman (Gen2:24-25); Matt 19:4-6; Deut 17:17). This God-ordained model for marriage and the resulting family is also a picture to humanity of the relationship between Christ and His Church (Eph 5:21-30) and is not a mere social construct. We believe all intimate sexual activity outside the biblical marriage relationship contradicts God’s design and intention, and is therefore sin (ie: Ex 20:14; Lev 18:22, 20:13; Rom 1:18-31; 1 Cor 6:9-10; 1 Tim 1:8-11; Jude 1).

Sexuality

We believe God created human beings in His own image, male and female with equal personal dignity, and these two distinct complementary biological sexes together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen 1:26-27); Matt 19:4). We believe God’s creation of humanity as male and female, combined with scriptural principles of sexuality, means that rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection for human sexuality is therefore sin (ie. Deut 22:5, Ex 20:14; Lev 18:22, 20:13; Rom 1:18-31; 1 Cor 6:9-10; 1 Tim 1:8-11; Jude 1).
